Measuring Air Tightness for Comfort, Efficiency, and Code Compliance
Criterium-Williams Engineers provides blower door testing and envelope evaluations for multifamily and light commercial buildings. We measure air leakage through the building shell to help owners and builders improve comfort, energy efficiency, and durability—and to verify code compliance.
Why Envelope Testing Matters
Uncontrolled air leakage drives energy loss and comfort issues. In Texas, it can also pull hot, humid air into wall and attic cavities, increasing risk of condensation and mold. Blower door testing quantifies leakage so it can be targeted and sealed. It’s also required for most new multifamily and light commercial construction under the IECC.
Typical Applications
